Baba Dez – Creating More Love in the World

There’s a great video on the home page of my friend and mentor, Baba Dez. It’s of my favorite clips of his thoughts on the tantric lifestyle. He has great insights, plus it’s shot at a beautiful, panoramic Sedona site just a short (tho very steep) hike from my home. It’s one of my favorite sites for land journeys and outdoor sessions. Perhaps you’ll join me sometime….

Deepak Chopra – Insights into Sex and Spirituality

Dear Friends,

On the occasion of the Sony e-book release of my book, Kama Sutra I would like to share the following insights on sex and spirituality:

1. Sexual energy is the primal and creative energy of the universe. All things that are alive come from sexual energy. In animals and other life forms, sexual energy expresses itself as biological creativity. In humans, sexual energy can be creative at all levels — physical, emotional and spiritual. In any situation — where we feel attraction, arousal, awakening, alertness, passion, interest, inspiration, excitement, creativity, enthusiasm — in each of these situations, sexual energy is at work. Whenever we feel these states of awareness, we must put our attention on the energy that we are experiencing, nourishing it with our attention, experiencing it with joy and keeping it alive in our awareness.

2. Sexual desire is sacred and chaste. The suppression of sexual energy is false, ugly and unchaste.

3. During sexual union, there is union between flesh and spirit.

4. Bliss, carefreeness and playfulness are the essence of sex.

5. To improve your sexual experiences, get rid of your expectations.
Expectations are primarily in three areas: 1) Performance, exemplified in the question, “How am I doing?” 2) Feeling, exemplified in the question, “How am I feeling?” 3) Security, exemplified in the question, “Do you love me?”

6. In sex, as in all areas of life, resistance is born of fear. All resistance is mental. It implies judgment against what is being felt. Sex becomes a problem when it gets mixed with hidden emotions such as shame, guilt and anger.

7. Sexual intimacy is the road to the taste or experience of true freedom, because it is the one area of life in which we can become completely uninhibited and free.

8. Sexual fulfillment occurs when the experience comes from playfulness instead of need. Frequently people bring their conflicts and needs into the sexual experience. When sex is used to fulfill needs, it leads to addiction. When sex comes from playfulness, the result is ecstasy.

9. All problems related to sex, neurosis, deviancy, sexual misbehavior, violence, abuse, can be traced to resistance, suppression and repression — not to the sexual urges themselves. If we are allowed to discover our urges, desires and emotions, without outside inhibition, they won’t go to extremes. Extremism, in any form, is a reaction to repression, inhibition and suppression. Aggression and violence are the shadow energies of fear and impotence.

10. Sex is a means of escaping our little self or ego. It is many peoples’ only experience of meditation.

11. Meaningful sex has to be value based. Values are personal. Each situation that has sexual energy in it, involves the whole human being and their entire value system. My values may be different from yours, and I have no right to be the moral judge of anyone’s values. It is important, however, to have core values, and respect them. Without values, we become spiritually bankrupt. Sexual experience will never cause problems and will always be joyful, if lovers share the same values.

12. True intimacy is union between flesh and flesh, between subtle body and subtle body, between soul and soul. Sexual energy is sacred energy. When we have restored the sexual experience to the realm of the sacred, our world will be chaste and divine, holy and healed.

Love,
Deepak

Gemini Manor – Secret Hollywood Hideaway

I started feeling a strong urge to visit Los Angeles weeks ago. It was unexplainable, but quite persistent so finally I made a casual call to a new Facebook friend to see if he had any rooms available at his house for a few days.

Was I in luck.

I’d seen some intriguing photos of “Gemini Manor” . . . but photos do no justice at all to this amazing work of art.

In fact first night I was there, I decided not to leave my room to get something I’d forgotten downstairs. I just wasn’t sure I could find my way back through the winding maze to reach my cozy room up in the trees.

I’ve since heard several people say that visiting the Manor feels like being inside an M.C. Escher drawing.

Only this is much, much more elaborate than anything Escher ever drew.

There are multitudes of…

- stained glass windows
- old movie props
- total junk pieces turned into magical sculptures
- kid’s toys
- dragons
- fairies
- cars

- comfy sofas
- whimsical creatures
- hidden rooms
- towering skylights
- mirrors
- artwork
- and on and on and on.

And on.

I’ve never experienced anything like it.

I’m addicted – I’ll be going back again soon. Meanwhile I just can’t keep it a secret from the world. Other people should experience this place.

It’s the kind of destination people travel far across the world to see, only it’s just around the corner in Hollywood. It’s a creation that both awakens and satisfies the innate human thirst we all have for the magic and mystery of life.

Alexander Lehr is the creative, amazing Wizard behind the curtain.

He’s a gracious, wonderful host who will happily transport you into his secret oasis of stunning beauty.

A visionary genius of many talents, he’s a Filmmaker, Event Producer, Real Estate Investor, Artist, Business Man, and Collector (ask him about his 41 cars!).

He’s lived on the property for decades so he naturally knows the town, and it’s residents, very intimately.

A natural storyteller, he thoroughly entertained me with fascinating accounts of his adventures in Hollywood, as well as his tales of the area history. He’s a real insider with connections to people and parties others only dream about.

He also throws some great parties himself, find him on Facebook (Alexander Lehr) and keep on eye on what he’s doing. His events are as magical as his home.

If you’re going to LA, forget Disneyland (even though it’s one of his favorite places) and visit Gemini Manor instead! I highly recommend it.

(P.S. The Manor is frequently used as a film set. You’ll find lots more photos on the Ambassador Locations website.)

Crystal Cottage in Sedona

When I first arrived in Sedona several years ago I heard people talk of a couple of crystal-embedded homes that had been constructed here. I never got any real details, but the stories caught my attention, and I loved the idea that someone had created magical places like that in a location widely thought to be an Earth power point.

I felt the magic in the larger of the two homes when I was there a couple years ago to attend an opening of Jaiya’s film “Red Hot Touch.” The house was buzzing with energy, creatively lit with colored lights, and it was also hotly sensual in a very masculine way. I’d never even seen the smaller house, the one I’ve dubbed the Crystal Cottage, until one day last fall when a series of serendipitous events dropped me into it as the resident healer.

The creator of the homes, Lawrence Lanoff, is a nationally known Seminar Leader, Teacher, Hollywood Video Producer/Director, and the author of A Course in Freedom, The Drunken Monkey Speaks. He built the two homes specifically as places where powerful transformation is supported and easy. When I asked him to tell me more about the crystals and the magic of the cottage, he related the following details of how both the houses are charged with the crystalline rocks and with his intentions (which is saying something – if you’ve ever seen him work with energy, he wields jaw-dropping powers).

When you first drive or walk onto the land where the cottage sits, you pierce an energetic veil as you pass through a Violet Flame Curtain that surrounds the perimeter of the property. This curtain creates a sacred, special space outside of regular reality, outside of normal time and space. By entering the property, you enter another dimension. Also surrounding the house are 7 golden, swirling pillars the size of 18 wheelers that stand on end and gently spin keeping the space clean. Another 9 pillars are placed in the surrounding neighborhood.

The foundation of the house is embedded with crystals in a Violet Flame Matrix of the Mother/Father God/Goddess within. This matrix acts as a filter and can be conceptualized as a purifying flame in the seekers heart center.

The circle is laid out so the center point is aligned with the center of the property, then this point and the Sacred Four Directions are energized with crystals. The Violet Flame Matrix is marked out with more crystals weaving into the ancient circle form to create a crystalline vortex under the floors of the house. This inflowing, female vortex helps people easily drop energies they want to get rid of, like an energetic garbage disposal. There are also crystals embedded in the walls to protect the energetic space to help people clear more easily.

I was quite curious to see what it would be like to live here, and I’m happy to report that I’ve witnessed  – and experienced – many tremendous, fascinating healings and transformations during the time I’ve been here. I’ve seen the magic work on clients, spiritual seekers, friends, and family. I’ve also seen an extraordinary number of people birth new plans and new lives during their time here – even if they were only in the cottage for a couple hours!

The strange thing is that the the way the décor of the house has developed it feels like you’re inside a crystal. I’m a dedicated thrift store/garage sale shopper (aka treasure hunter), and find it fun to see how the Universe wants to decorate my homes.

Over time the pieces I’ve found for the cottage have generally been white, so the house is quite airy and light-filled. Then the prism – the colors of the crystal – come into the picture in the form of brightly colored pillows and scarves that are thrown about. Adding sparkle are tiny colored blue lights that hang in unexpected places. It’s a soothing, uplifting space that also manages to truly feel like you’re in a wonderful, different dimension. One person delightedly described it as a sort of sensual, spiritual fun house.

I invite you to visit for yourself and see how the Magical Crystal Cottage affects you. Sessions are available for Spiritual Life Counseling, Reconnective Healing, Sacred Sexual Healing, and Life Visioning.

The Exquisite Woman

Who is the exquisite woman?

She is the one who can face herself. She will love herself. She is the Phoenix rising.

She knows who she has been and she chooses to let go of the conditioning. She chooses to express herself authentically, she knows that being in touch with her deepest feminine self is the greatest gift she can ever contribute to her brothers and sisters as she restores life and love on the planet.

She is not afraid to be a mystery. She is not afraid to be transparent. She knows she makes mistakes. She knows she will make more. And she knows she will succeed.

She has given herself permission to love and trust herself unconditionally.

The Bohemian Life is the Only Life Worth Living – Osho

OSHO, IN THE PAST ALL FAMOUS ARTISTS HAVE BEEN WELL-KNOWN FOR THEIR BOHEMIAN SIDE OF LIFE. OSHO, PLEASE CAN YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOUT CREATIVITY AND DISCIPLINE?

The bohemian life is the only life worth living! All other kinds of lives are only lukewarm; they are more ways of committing slow suicide than ways of living life passionately and intensely. In the past it was inevitable that the artist had to live in rebellion, because creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence. If you want to create you have to get rid of all conditionings, otherwise your creativity will be nothing but copying, it will be just a carbon copy. You can be creative only if you are an individual, you cannot create as a part of the mob psychology. The mob psychology is uncreative; it lives a life of drag, it knows no dance, no song, no joy; it is mechanical.

Of course, there are a few things you will get from the society only if you are mechanical: respectability you will get, honors you will
get. Universities will confer D.Litts on you, countries will give you gold medals, you may finally become a Nobel laureate, but this whole
thing is ugly.

A real man of genius will discard all this nonsense, because this is bribery. Giving the Nobel prize to a person simply means that your
services to the establishment are respected, that you are honored because you have been a good slave, obedient, that you have not gone astray, that you have followed the well-trodden path.

The creator cannot follow the well-trodden path, he has to search out his own way, he has to inquire in the jungles of life, he has to go
alone, he has to be a dropout from the mob mind, from the collective psychology. The collective mind is the lowest mind in the world; even the so-called idiots are a little more superior than the collective idiocy. But the collectivity has its own bribes: it respects people,
honors people, if they go on insisting that the way of the collective mind is the only right way.

It was out of sheer necessity that in the past, creators of all kinds — the painters, the dancers, the musicians, the poets, the sculptors
– had to renounce respectability. They had to live a kind of bohemian life, the life of a vagabond; that was the only possibility for them to be creative. This need not be so in the future. If you understand me, if you feel what I am saying has truth in it, then in the future everybody should live individually and there will be no need for a bohemian life. The bohemian life is the by-product of a fixed, orthodox, conventional, respectable life.

My effort is to destroy the collective mind and to make each individual free to be himself or herself. Then there is no problem; then you can live as you want to live. In fact, humanity will really only be born the day the individual is respected in his rebellion.

Humanity has still not been born; it is still in the womb. What you see as humanity is only a very hocus-pocus phenomenon. Unless we give individual freedom to each person, absolute freedom to each person to be himself, to exist in his own way…. And, of course, he has not to interfere with anybody — that is part of freedom. Nobody should interfere with anybody.

But in the past everybody has been poking his nose into everybody else’s affairs — even into things which are absolutely private,
which have nothing to do with the society. For example, you fall in love with a woman — what has that got to do with the society? It is
purely a personal phenomenon, it is not of the marketplace. If two persons are agreeing to commune in love, the society should not come into it, but the society comes into it with all its paraphernalia, in direct ways, in indirect ways. The policeman will stand between the lovers; the magistrate will stand between the lovers; and if that is not enough then the societies have created a super-policeman, God, who will take care of you.

The idea of God is that of a peeping Tom who does not even allow you privacy in your bathroom, who goes on looking through the keyhole, watching what you are doing. This is ugly. All the religions of the world say God continuously watches you — this is ugly. What kind of God is this? Has he got no other business but to watch everybody, follow everybody? Seems to be the supreme-most detective!

Humanity needs a new soil — the soil of freedom. Bohemianism was a reaction, a necessary reaction, but if my vision succeeds then there will be no bohemianism because there will be no so-called collective mind trying to dominate people. Then everybody will be at ease with himself. Of course, you have not to interfere with anybody, but as far as your life is concerned you have to live it on your own terms.

Then only is there creativity. Creativity is the fragrance of individual freedom.
